Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking a Patent Agent for a leading AmLaw 50 law firm’s Intellectual Property - Patents Practice. The role is hybrid and open to multiple locations, including New York.

Ideal candidates hold a technical degree in EE/CS/Physics and have at least two years of patent preparation and prosecution experience with strong writing and communication skills. You will collaborate with inventors and attorneys to draft and prosecute applications, perform novelty searches, and support

Qualifications

• 2+ years of substantive patent prep and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with excellent academics.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
