An international AmLaw 50 law firm seeks a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property - Patents Practice. Hybrid in New York; candidates with a strong technical background in EE/CS and 2+ years of patent experience will thrive.

This role provides exposure to drafting, prosecution, and strategic counseling with leading attorneys. You'll collaborate with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology, perform novelty searches, and support portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with excellent academics.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing tech.
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
