Jobot, a well-established Texas litigation firm, seeks attorneys at multiple levels to join its Insurance Defense / General Liability practice in Houston. This role blends in-office collaboration with a flexible hybrid schedule, offering meaningful case ownership and direct client interaction.

We welcome 2-25 years of litigation experience across general liability, personal injury, premises and other civil defense matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar admission.
• 2-25 years of litigation experience.
• Strong written advocacy and legal research skills.
• Experience handling discovery and substantive motion practice.
• Strong client-management and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and active matters.
• Deposition and hearing experience strongly preferred.
• Trial experience highly valued for more senior candidates.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of active litigation matters.
• Evaluating liability, damages and case exposure.
• Developing case strategy from inception through resolution.
• Drafting answers, pleadings, motions and substantive briefs.
• Managing written discovery and document production.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Handling expert discovery and expert strategy.
• Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations and court conferences.
• Negotiating settlements.
• Preparing cases for arbitration and trial.
• Conducting legal research and drafting litigation analyses.
• Preparing status reports and evaluations for insurers and corporate clients.
• Communicating directly with adjusters, insureds, opposing counsel and clients.
• Supervising junior attorneys and support staff where appropriate.
• Taking an increasingly independent role in hearings, depositions, mediation and trial strategy.
• Senior attorneys will be expected to independently manage more complex matters, mentor junior lawyers and serve as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients.
