Job summary

Independent Health in Williamsville, NY, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician-Infusion and Replenishment to support infusion patients and maintain pharmaceuticals, equipment and supplies under pharmacist supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• One year of experience in a high-volume pharmacy or equivalent required.
• Prior institutional experience with pumps, IV equipment, home infusion, or product purchasing preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Experience with an online claims processing system is preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records, including infusion orders.
• Assist in appointment coordination for infusion patients when necessary.
• Set up, package, and label medication doses.
• Process equipment and supply orders.
• Package and ship specialty prescriptions, infusion orders, product returns, and equipment for maintenance.
• Maintain infusion pump maintenance logs and coordinate replacements as required.
• Coordinate stock infusion supplies with nursing support based on patient need.
• Assist Pharmacy Buyer with inventory processes and organization of equipment, pumps, and supplies.
• Assist in replenishment of incoming specialty stock replenishment.
• Assist in physical inventory.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling.
• Ensure separation of duties in purchasing, replenishment, inventory and payment.
