Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting an experienced Infrastructure Planner to support sustainable development across the North West. You will influence planning policy, assess infrastructure needs and collaborate with local authorities, developers and regulators.

Based in Warrington with hybrid working (3 days onsite), you will manage complex planning proposals and contribute to long-term infrastructure investment in water, wastewater and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in town planning, infrastructure, utilities or development management.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, policy and processes.
• Experience with local plans, major planning applications or strategic infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Understanding of environmental planning, sustainability and infrastructure requirements.
• RTPI or RICS membership, or a willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist planning advice on development proposals, infrastructure requirements and planning policy.
• Respond to complex planning applications, including major infrastructure projects.
• Review local plans and prepare representations to influence planning policy.
• Build relationships with local authorities, developers, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Assess the impact of regional growth on future infrastructure and land requirements.
• Represent the organisation at planning examinations, consultations and stakeholder meetings.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, asset management, property and legal teams.
