Job summary

WSP in Southampton is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning Team. You will mentor colleagues and provide technical advice on a wide portfolio of projects across the public and private sectors, with a focus on development planning, energy projects, and sustainable transport schemes.

You will lead transport statements, assessments, travel plans and DCO support, while collaborating with engineers, planners and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience contributing to Transport Planning outputs for private/public sector clients.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK transport policies, legislation, and planning processes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with MS Office and transport data analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support in delivering projects across a range of studies (concepts, business cases, feasibility).
• Prepare Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, EIAs, Parking/Access/Movement studies.
• Lead Development Consent Order applications for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (energy related).
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Manage projects to budget, programme, and technical standards; supervise workloads and junior staff.
