Job summary

VDL Industries Gainesville seeks a Facilities Construction Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver facility construction and improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, sustainability, and infrastructure updates.

This role serves as the primary link between internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, managing the full lifecycle from requirements to close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in construction or facilities project management in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with cleanroom/buildings is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems (W & E installations) is an advantage.
• Ability to translate production processes into necessary infrastructure/ installations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize critical project elements.
• Financial awareness with experience managing project budgets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Organized and solution-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction and facility improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Define objectives and develop facility layout concepts based on operational requirements.
• Prepare the Program of Requirements with internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate the design process with architects and engineering partners.
• Manage permitting and regulatory approvals.
• Organize contractor tender processes and assist in contractor selection.
• Monitor and control scope, schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Conduct facility/site assessments for feasibility and requirements.
• Maintain project documentation with photos, reports, and status updates.
• Chair periodic construction meetings and set attendance.
