Job summary

Battelle in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Facilities Project Manager to plan, organize, and oversee medium-sized construction programs, leading design, architecture, and engineering for multi-million-dollar projects.

You will coordinate engineers, trades, and consultants, manage schedules and budgets, support strategic facility planning, and ensure regulatory compliance across OSHA, OBBC, FDA, NFPA, EPA requirements while delivering cost-effective results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering with 5 years in engineering and construction for R&D facilities.
• At least 3 years in engineering and design estimating.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders and management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under changing conditions.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute approved project plans ensuring on-schedule, on-budget construction activities.
• Coordinate engineers and trades to meet objectives per policies and procedures.
• Aggregate activities across departments including Planning, Operations, Security, and Research.
• Engage government officials, negotiate terms, and secure required approvals; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform feasibility studies and prepare reports/presentations for upper management and clients.
• Assist in capital budgeting and long-range planning for King Avenue Campus and sites.
• Provide expert consultation on construction and engineering matters.
• Track progress and contribute to profitability.
