Job summary
Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support our client in Oak Ridge, TN. The role focuses on designing, evaluating, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems for complex projects within regulated environments.
The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited BS in Engineering with at least 5 years of I&C design experience, including PLC and HMI programming.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in engineering ABET-accredited.
- Minimum 5 years instrumentation and controls design engineering experience.
- 5+ years PLC and HMI programming for systems with analog and digital I/O.
- Experience with NEC, UL508A, and ISA standards for instrumentation and controls.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening; must be a U.S. citizen; must be eligible for security badge.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality design packages and provide field technical support for implementation.
- Prepare calculations, BOMs, labor-hour estimates, and design specifications/drawings.
- Develop control cabinet drawings, system diagrams, and instrument loop diagrams; create P&IDs.
- Drive process control narratives and input requirements for software-related needs.
- Collaborate with project teams; perform plant walkdowns to support design and field actions.
