Job summary

Johnson Controls invites applications for an HVAC Control Systems Engineering Intern in the Milwaukee, WI area. The program combines hands-on learning with classroom theory in a collaborative setting.

You will work with technicians, engineers, and project managers on new construction projects, learning to read drawings, write software, and support commissioning while developing practical HVAC control skills in office and field environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Availability to work full-time (40 h/wk) during summer break and possibly part-time during semesters.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Support specification, installation, and commissioning of HVAC projects.
• Assist with reading control drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Read/write software code used in controls applications.
• Learn to install, inspect, commission, and troubleshoot control systems.
• Generate controls and equipment submittals and support approvals.
