Job summary

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a summer Internship/Co‑op program in Milwaukee, WI. This will place you in the Milwaukee HVAC branch to gain experience in Controls Systems Engineering, installation, and commissioning.

You will read drawings and write software, learn on-site and in-office practices, and work with experienced teams to complete projects. A strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and adaptability is noted in the role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Construction, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Available to work full-time for 40 hours/week during the summer break and potentially part-time during school semesters.
• Strong technical proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products.
• Must be highly organized and must be a good communicator.
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Must embrace change and handle shifts in direction.
• Strong work initiative with the persistence to match.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced technicians, project managers, and engineers to specify, install, and commission projects.
• Learn about HVAC systems in office and site settings.
• Provide modifications to standard designs to meet job specifications.
• Read control drawings and design blueprints/specifications.
• Read and write software code.
• Learn how to install, inspect, commission, and troubleshoot systems.
• Generate controls and equipment submittals and request approvals.
