Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an HVAC Controls Internship designed to provide hands-on experience within our Building Automation Systems (BAS) organization.

This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and field teams to support the design, programming, commissioning, and operation of building control systems that help create smarter, healthier, and more sustainable buildings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated interest in HVAC systems, building automation, or construction.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and configuration of building automation and HVAC control systems per project requirements.
• Support development of system diagrams, sequences of operation, network layouts, electrical schematics, and bills of material.
• Assist with programming, testing, and troubleshooting building automation software under expert guidance.
• Coordinate project documentation, drawings, and equipment schedules for submittals and installation activities.
• Support material ordering, tracking, and project documentation processes.
• Participate in controller loading, system startup, and commissioning activities.
• Assist with validating system functionality and issue resolution with field teams and customers.
• Observe and assist with customer training on building automation systems.
