Zusammenfassung

Sweet Flower is seeking an HR Manager to lead the full employee lifecycle across our CA stores and ensure compliance with state and local laws. The role supports payroll accuracy, investigations, discipline, and handbook maintenance while coordinating with store managers and legal counsel as needed.

Hybrid work arrangement (2 days in Culver City). Regular travel to LA-area stores and occasional travel to Chico are required.

Qualifikationen

• BA or BS degree preferred.
• 3+ years of HR experience in California.
• Solid working knowledge of California wage-and-hour law.
• Experience running workplace investigations and documenting discipline.
• Experience with a unionized workforce is a strong plus.
• Cannabis industry experience is a plus.
• PHR, SHRM-CP or California HR certification is a plus.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Aufgaben

• Lead the full employee lifecycle across all stores, setting and enforcing standards for hiring, onboarding, recordkeeping, leaves and separations.
• Manages the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
• Keep us compliant with California and local employment law, including meal and rest breaks, overtime, sick leave, final pay, scheduling and minimum wage.
• Own payroll accuracy and compliance, including review and approval of bi-weekly payroll and resolution of pay discrepancies.
• Investigate employee complaints promptly and objectively, document the findings, and recommend action.
• Advise store managers on discipline, documentation and terminations, so every decision is consistent and defensible.
• Handle first-step grievances and administer the collective bargaining agreement day to day.
• Maintain the employee handbook, policies, required postings and mandatory trainings, including harassment prevention.
• Ensure compliance with DCC and local permit requirements for employee badging, age verification, and any legally required screening.
• Travel between LA-area stores and occasional trips to Chico; coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
