Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Washington, DC on a contract basis for approximately 3 months. The role is hybrid, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and pay ranges from $36 to $42 per hour depending on experience.

The successful candidate will oversee HR operations, advise leadership on staffing and workforce planning, and drive engagement and compliance efforts to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive human resources experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of employment regulations, HR compliance, and general workforce practices
• Proven ability to advise leadership and handle complex employee situations with professionalism and sound judgment
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS platforms
• Bachelor's degree required
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day HR activities, including employee relations, performance management, policies, and compliance initiatives
• Advise leadership on staffing needs, workforce planning, employee matters, and effective HR practices
• Develop and support initiatives designed to strengthen employee engagement and workplace culture
• Stay current on employment regulations and help ensure organizational practices align with federal, state, and local requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline HR procedures, systems, and workflows
• Support recruiting, new-hire integration, and employee retention initiatives
• Provide guidance on sensitive employee situations while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professionalism
