Job summary

Kustom HR is seeking an HR Generalist to support a diverse portfolio of client organizations in the Northern NJ/ NYC area. You will handle onboarding, payroll support, HRIS maintenance, and day-to-day HR operations across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of HR Generalist or similar experience required.
• Payroll experience is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and payroll processes.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new hire onboarding and employee orientation.
• Maintain client employee files and HRIS records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support employee relations and address routine HR inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Assist with payroll processing for multiple clients.
• Review timekeeping records for accuracy.
• Process new hires, status changes, terminations, and payroll adjustments.
• Coordinate with payroll specialists for timely processing.
• Maintain payroll records with confidentiality.
