Shepherd Center is seeking a Billing and Collection Specialist to manage hospital and physician billing cycles on site, with potential for a hybrid schedule. The role focuses on achieving cash goals, accurate coding, and timely documentation to secure payments and resolve denials.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hospital billing experience, proficiency with Excel and databases, strong organizational skills, and a typing speed of 45 wpm.

Qualifications

• Three (3) to five (5) years of hospital and physician billing and collection experience.
• Proficient with PC spreadsheet and database software.
• Strong organizational skills and math aptitude.
• Typing speed 45 words per minute.

Responsabilités

• Meet monthly cash goals.
• Code accounts according to system requirements.
• Report unusual occurrences to PFS Supervisor/Manager.
• Post all billing activity to the A/R system.
• Obtain medical records from HIM and attach needed documents for payment.
• Monitor unbilled accounts and prepare weekly status reports for the PFS supervisor.
• Ensure referrals and prior authorizations are loaded before submission of bill.
