Job summary

American Heart Association in Chicago is seeking a Development Director to drive revenue for our Heart Walk fundraising campaign. This full-time, field-based role offers a hybrid schedule and the opportunity to lead sponsorships and donor engagement in the local market.

You will build a pipeline of corporate partners, manage volunteer involvement, and coordinate events. A minimum of three years in fundraising or sales, a degree, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required; travel up to

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel locally up to 70% and some overnight trips; reliable transportation
• Ability to lift/move large objects when needed; assistance may be required
• Must have basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective sponsors/donors aligned to campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership and day-of-event volunteers.
• Lead engagement with Cor Vitae giving society and plan member engagement events.
• Plan and implement events with internal and external partners.
• Maintain accurate supporter data in CRM and Microsoft platforms.
