Job summary

Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a full-time Grant Writer to oversee ASAC’s grant activities, including researching, writing, budgeting, and coordinating proposals for foundations, corporations, and government agencies. You will work with program staff and finance to develop concepts and ensure compliance.

You will track deadlines, prepare grant reports, and cultivate funder relationships while supporting fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field.
2 years of grant writing experience with ability to turn complex ideas into clear narratives.
Experience with grant management software and CRM systems.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

Research funding opportunities aligned with ASAC’s mission and programs.
Write and submit grant proposals and renewals with budgets and supporting documents.
Collaborate with program staff to translate goals into narratives for proposals.
Develop accurate budgets with the finance department and ensure funder compliance.
Manage deadlines for applications, submissions, and reporting schedules.
