Job summary

Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a childcare staff member to monitor children in a daycare setting and help plan and implement a developmental curriculum for assigned groups. You’ll work with a teaching team to create developmentally appropriate activities and support health, safety, and daily care needs.

The role includes snack preparation, maintaining an orderly environment, and participation in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• CDA Certificate or equivalent experience in licensed childcare center preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct developmentally appropriate activities as part of a teaching team.
• Maintain health and safety standards for the children.
• Assist with self-help skills and daily care including diapering, toileting, feeding, and comforting.
• Prepare snacks and meals as needed.
• Maintain an orderly environment and assist with records and reports.
• Safely operate a vehicle for job-related travel.
