Job summary

Area Substance Abuse Council in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Director of Fund Development and Communications to lead ASAC’s resource development and communications program.

You will work with the Executive Director and Board to grow donor support, manage grant applications, sponsor programs, donor communications, and events.

The role emphasizes building relationships, guiding strategy, ensuring compliant fundraising, and expanding ASAC’s presence in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, philanthropy, nonprofit management, social services, business or related field; MA preferred.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and development research.
• Minimum of three years increasing responsibility in fundraising; five+ years preferred.
• Proven record in achieving fund development goals.
• Experience in managing social media and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development, planning and implementation of ASAC fund development and communications activities to meet goals.
• Engage Executive Leadership and Board in fundraising efforts.
• Oversee grant applications, planning, research, writing and renewals.
• Develop and execute donor-focused gifts program and sponsorships.
• Plan and promote events to develop prospective donors.
• Track, report and optimize fund development results.
• Supervise acknowledgement of gifts and donor recognition.
• Coordinate communication materials and online presence.
