Job summary

Towson University in Maryland seeks an Accountant to support financial administration for grants and federal programs. You will liaise with Sponsored Research, Financial Aid, and Accounting to ensure compliance and accurate recording, with strong emphasis on accruals, deferrals, and grant accounting.

The role requires reviewing reports, preparing schedules, and coordinating with state agencies. Telework may be available up to two days per week after 90 days of service in good standing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field with at least 18 credits in accounting.
• At least two years of professional accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build collaborative relationships, learn and apply new concepts, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare documentation for federal draws for financial aid awards and grants, ensuring authorized amounts.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and journal entries; assist with GASB requirements.
• Enter new grant budgets; coordinate with Sponsored Research to ensure proper billing and reconciliation.
