Job summary

Nakupuna Companies seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, configure, and optimize hybrid network infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud. The role emphasizes secure connectivity, high availability, and adherence to FedRAMP High, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD IL 4/5.

Responsibilities include building VPCs, Transit Gateways, and routes; configuring switches/routers; and maintaining Direct Connect and IPSec VPN tunnels for government workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Cyber Security or IT.
• 4–7 years of enterprise physical networking experience, with ≥2 years in AWS environments.
• AWS Advanced Networking or CCNP Enterprise certification (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Infrastructure Design: Create scalable network topologies linking physical data centers to AWS GovCloud regions.
• GovCloud Infrastructure: Build and manage VPCs, GovCloud Transit Gateways, Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancing.
• Switch Configuration: Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade network switches and routers on-premises.
• Secure Connectivity: Implement and maintain AWS Direct Connect and IPSec VPN tunnels for government workloads.
• Compliance Integration: Enforce security controls per FedRAMP High, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD IL 4/5.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Monitor hybrid performance, troubleshoot routing loops, and perform deep packet analysis.
