LHH Recruitment Solutions in Newark, CA is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join a collaborative finance team on a hybrid schedule. You will contribute to month-end closes, payroll accounting, and financial reporting while driving process improvements across accounting functions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with at least 3 years of general ledger experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and a detail-oriented, analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• At least 3 years in general ledger or corporate accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger activities.
• Manage payroll-related general ledger accounts, including compensation accruals, bonuses, incentives, payroll taxes, and benefit expenses.
• Analyze payroll-related GL accounts, perform reconciliations, and investigate variances.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Monitor account activity, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
• Utilize reconciliation and close-management tools to support a streamlined close process.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Support financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes.
• Provide schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audits.
• Assist with audit inquiries and facilitate the audit process.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reduce manual effort.
