Job summary

Spire Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Construction Engineering professional to assist the Engineering Manager and Field Operations. You will design and estimate construction projects for replacement of existing natural gas facilities and the construction of new facilities.

You will coordinate with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, System Planning, Right of Way, Pipeline Safety, and outside partners while ensuring code compliance and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited school required.
• Engineering in Training certificate preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Manager and Field Operations in designing and estimating construction projects for gas facilities.
• Coordinate designs with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, System Planning, Right of Way, and external partners.
• Prepare paperwork for gas main and service work and utility agreements.
• Perform engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS.
• Develop specifications for new pipe installations, regulator stations, and pipeline improvements.
