Job summary

Spire Inc. in Kentucky seeks a Construction Engineer to design and estimate construction projects for replacement and expansion of natural gas facilities.

You’ll coordinate with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, System Planning, and Field Operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient projects. Responsibilities include preparing paperwork, completing GIS-based designs and cost estimates, and attending meetings with municipalities and engineering firms to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• Engineering in Training certificate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 0-2 years’ engineering experience in natural gas or similar industries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate designs with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, System Planning, Right of Way, and Field Operations.
• Prepare paperwork for gas main and service work, including utility agreements.
• Complete engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for main and service work.
• Develop engineering specifications and designs for pipe installations, regulator stations, and pipeline retirements.
• Attend meetings to negotiate with engineering firms and municipalities to minimize impact on existing facilities.
