Job summary

Spire Inc. seeks an Engineering Associate to assist the Engineering Manager and Field Operations in designing and estimating natural gas facilities. You will coordinate with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, and other departments to plan and execute projects.

The role requires collaborating with external firms and municipalities, preparing required paperwork, and ensuring code compliance across projects. A bachelor’s in engineering and an EIT are preferred, with a hybrid office schedule.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Engineering in Training certificate preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Manager and Field Operations on designs and estimates.
• Coordinate with GIS Analysts, Environmental Engineering, and other departments.
• Prepare paperwork for gas main and service work and utility agreements.
• Create engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for various main and service projects.
• Develop specifications and designs for pipe installations, regulator stations, and pipeline retirements.
• Attend meetings to minimize impact of improvements on existing facilities.
