Job summary

Beusse Sanks, PLLC seeks an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to own day-to-day financial operations, including the complete accounting cycle and IOLTA trust accounting per Florida Bar rules.

The role supports payroll, HR administration, and onboarding/offboarding, with a hybrid schedule (25–37.5 hours/week) and potential for 100% remote for the right candidate. Proactive communication with attorneys is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, including month-end close and financial statement prep.
• Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting at a law firm or similar professional services environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with legal billing or practice management software (e.g., Clio).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual and cash-basis accounting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Unequaled trustworthiness and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting: manage AP, AR, GL, and month-end/year-end close.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly.
• Prepare journals, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper coding.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and management reports.
• Coordinate with outside CPA on tax filings, year-end adjustments, and audits.
• Trust (IOLTA) accounting: maintain client trust accounts per Florida Bar rules; perform monthly reconciliations.
• Forecast firm financial needs weeks in advance of expenditures.
• Billing & Collections: review invoices, generate client invoices, apply payments, monitor aging.
