Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and review fire suppression and life safety systems for varied projects across the United States. You will work on water supply, hydraulics, and NFPA/UFC compliance, with opportunities to mentor staff and engage with clients.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with offices across multiple states. Travel to project sites may be required depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical) or related discipline.
• PE license required.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fire protection designs including water supply and hydraulic analyses.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects; provide life safety and fire protection analysis.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA/UFC and local regulations.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise engineers on projects.
• Collaborate with sales to prepare proposals and meet client needs.
• Attend conferences to promote firm capabilities and services.
