Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or in Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection designs including water supply, hydraulics, sprinkler and suppression systems.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects and provide life safety analyses.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC and local regulations and sign off.
• Create fire protection and life safety engineering designs and evaluations (eg. egress analysis, fire separation, water supply).
• Evaluate systems using HydraCAD, HydraCALC or similar software.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Meet with clients to review current and future design needs.
• Perform site assessments to ensure industry and local requirements alignment.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff; mentor and supervise as needed.
