Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer to design fire protection systems for critical infrastructure. You will contribute to life safety analyses, NFPA/UFC compliance, and project sign-offs, while collaborating with sales and clients to meet evolving design needs.

The role supports a hybrid work model across multiple office locations in the United States, including Boston, MA and other regional offices. Travel to projects may be required to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection engineering designs including wet-pipe systems, water supply analyses, and fire alarm systems.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects and provide life safety analyses.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA and UFC standards and sign off on designs.
• Collaborate with sales to create proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Meet with clients to review current and future design needs.
• Perform site assessments ensuring alignment with industry standards.
