Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and review fire protection systems for federal and private sector projects. The role supports life safety, fire suppression, and fire alarm analyses with a focus on NFPA/UFC compliance.

The position offers a hybrid work environment with bases in multiple US offices, including Boston, MA, Fairfax, VA, Pittsburgh, PA, Maitland, FL, Raleigh, NC, or Dallas, TX. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required for the role.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection designs incl. water supply, sprinkler and alarm systems.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects focusing on life safety and fire protection.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC, and local regulations.
