UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist II to facilitate access to services and coordinate financial arrangements for patients in a hybrid remote setting in Galveston. The role emphasizes financial screening, patient communication, and collaboration with the treatment team.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree (or equivalent) and 3 years’ experience in billing, screening and insurance verification.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience with billing, financial screening, insurance verification, collections, and/or customer service.

Responsabilités

• Verify patient demographics and Third Party Payer information.
• Assist in COR, ED, Admitting Registrations functions as defined in each area’s CBO tool.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits and authorization requirements for services.
• Screen patients for financial responsibility and potential cash collections.
• Identify potential reimbursement sources and direct patients to financial assistance programs.
• Determine and collect deposits as needed.
• Facilitate referrals and prior authorizations.
• Determine eligibility of third party programs.
• Provide information to patients and healthcare staff to enhance satisfaction and reimbursement.
