Job description

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. This is a 'Hybrid Position' with three (3) days in office and two (2) days work from home.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs
  • Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research
  • Manage law office activities such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system
  • Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters
  • Assist Attorneys with files
  • Communicate with clients on a consistent basis regarding updates and changes to their case.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
  • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
Qualifications
  • 3+ years as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas (non-negotiable)
  • Ideally, candidates should hold a Paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education (preferred)
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof of possessing a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintaining automobile insurance
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude, are essential qualities for this role
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email is a must, with familiarity with legal software is a must
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are crucial for success in this position
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar, are fundamental requirements for this role
  • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference
  • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
Compensation

$25 - $30 hourly
