Job summary

Trane Technologies in San Antonio is seeking an Equipment Estimator II to join our team. You will interact with customers, account managers, project managers, technicians and suppliers to ensure timely estimates and project execution.

Responsibilities include technical selection and pricing of equipment, supporting the equipment sales team, reviewing plans, coordinating with stakeholders, preparing proposals and submittals for HVAC projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management with 3–5 years in estimating or project management.
• 4-year degree not required; practical experience is prioritized.
• Strong communication, proactive approach and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and/or temperature controls preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime/weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Review plans & specifications and develop cost estimates for HVAC projects, ensuring accuracy of quantities, sizes, configurations, and services.
• Provide knowledge and consultation for facility-related solutions to customers.
• Determine project needs, constraints and responsibilities to meet HVAC design and installation requirements.
• Develop, evaluate, and discuss possible solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier and/or customer.
• Coordinate selection, pricing and integration of equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Prepare, finalize and review preliminary and final proposals; prepare equipment submittals and validate selections.
• Assist Account Manager in determining proposal price, selling strategy and project fulfillment schedule.
