Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Environmental Specialist 3 to join the Wisconsin Environmental Team.

Responsibilities include reviewing and documenting environmental resources for energy projects, handling permitting tasks, and coordinating construction and project compliance. The role offers flexible work options including remote, in-office, or hybrid settings, with field duties such as storm water monitoring, wetland and habitat assessments, and relicensing studies.

Qualifications

• Advanced technical writing ability
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Travel within Southern Wisconsin is required; field work and flexible hours are likely
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to prepare regulatory documents

Responsibilities

• Complete construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, and environmental marking and staking
• Assist with field data collection and wetland delineations
• Balance ~50% field work and ~50% office work with willingness to overtime
• Learn regulatory requirements and complete basic regulatory agency applications
• Receive technical training for career advancement
• Perform other duties as assigned
