Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking an Assistant Environmental Specialist 3 to support the Wisconsin Environmental Team. The role combines fieldwork and office tasks, focusing on environmental resource reviews, permitting, reporting, and compliance for energy projects.

Responsibilities include inspections, erosion control monitoring, wetland delineations, data collection, and regulatory applications. Travel within Southern Wisconsin is required; the position is based in a remote home office with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Ecology, Engineering, Biology, or Environmental Science; advanced degree a plus.
3-4 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices with a background in environmental science, ecology, or construction inspection services.
Work is expected to be approximately 50% field-based work and 50% office-based work. Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime.
Advanced technical writing ability. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills a must.
Travel within Southern Wisconsin is a requirement and extended field assignments are likely.

Responsibilities

Complete construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, and environmental marking and staking.
Assist with field data collection and wetland delineations.
Work is approximately 50% field work and 50% office work; flexible hours and overtime required.
Gain knowledge of regulatory requirements and complete basic regulatory agency applications.
Receive technical training for career enhancement.
Other duties as assigned.
