Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably industrial.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations relevant to mining and chemical industries.
• Experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess environmental impact of plant operations, including air emissions, water discharge, and waste management.
• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental management plans and systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
• Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify non-compliance risks.
• Develop and deliver environmental awareness training programs for employees.
• Investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and ensure implementation.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to integrate environmental considerations into process design.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling programs in accordance with regulations.
• Stay current with evolving environmental legislation and best practices.
