Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks an Environmental Analyst 1 for the Corrective Action Unit in Hartford. You will receive on-the-job training in RBCRs, review investigations and remediation plans, and provide technical support to DEEP programs while ensuring cleanup compliance.

This hybrid, full-time position offers a 35-hour workweek with standard daytime hours and potential flex scheduling after the training period.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning environmental programs.
• College training in a scientific or technical discipline may substitute for five years of general experience.
• Ability to travel and possess/retain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in review and oversight of investigation and remediation of Emergent Reportable Releases including PCBs, oil, PFAS and UST systems.
• Evaluate compliance reports and documents submitted in enforcement actions for remedial cleanup requirements.
• Provide technical consultation to local, regional, state, federal officials and the public.
• Assist in drafting new regulations, statutes, guidelines and other written materials.
