The Environmental Analyst 2 supports the Emergency Response Spill Prevention Division within Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, focusing on Release-Based Cleanup Regulations compliance, Permitted Environmental Professional (PEP) licensing and training, and general permit processing. The role involves reviewing and approving PEP applications and courses, auditing submittals for reportable releases, and assisting with enforcement actions to prevent environmental damage and public health risks. This is a 35-hour-per-week, first-shift, full-time position based in Hartford, CT with hybrid/telework options available.

Key qualifications:

• Six years of experience in technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning and implementing environmental programs
• College training in a scientific or technical discipline related to environmental field (biological, chemical, or related sciences)
• Knowledge of environmental protection principles, local/state/federal environmental laws and regulations
• Ability to interpret legislation and technical data
