The State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is recruiting for an Environmental Analyst 1 to join the Water Planning and Management Division in Hartford. The position focuses on technical analysis of environmental program data, assisting in policy implementation, and providing data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data.
• Experience with data management and reporting in environmental programs.
• Familiarity with data systems and regulatory databases (e.g., CDX, ICIS, SRTK).
• Ability to interpret legislation and technical data and to use computer software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of environmental data in state and federal databases.
• Help develop and improve standard operating procedures for databases and data tools.
• Perform data analysis, quality assurance, and reporting for wastewater and related environmental data.
• Support database design, queries, and user interface improvements.
• Assist with migration of Excel-based data to modern database systems.
• Prepare reports and presentations based on environmental data for stakeholders.
• Participate in training, outreach, and project/task management activities.
