Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical invites entry-level Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join our team focused on mission-critical data center facilities. You will assist with mechanical design tasks across greenfield and brownfield projects, coordinating with electrical, plumbing, architectural disciplines.

We seek candidates with a 2- or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or technology, HVAC drafting exposure, and a desire to learn.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred.
• HVAC construction experience with a drafting certification will be considered as well.
• Internship, co-op, or work experience in a consulting engineering role is a plus.
• Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
• Experience using Revit in educational or professional context is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design documents using Autodesk Revit.
• Perform airside and hydronic calculations for multiple systems.
• Develop hydronic and airflow diagrams.
• Learn to select and specify HVAC equipment.
• Meet project deadlines, including extra hours as needed.
• Review local and national codes and project specifications to grow construction knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with team and clients; travel up to 10% when required.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to deliver design elements.
