Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical seeks an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer/Designer to support design for mission-critical data center projects. You will work with a mechanical team to execute design tasks, learn from senior staff, and interface with electrical, plumbing, and architectural disciplines.

The role offers a path to grow skills in Revit-based design, hydronic calculations, and HVAC equipment selection, with a hybrid work arrangement and travel capped at 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred.
• Past internship or co-op experience in a consulting engineering role is a plus.
• Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
• Experience using Revit in an educational or professional context is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical design tasks for various project types under guidance of senior/mid-level engineers.
• Use Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents.
• Assist with airside and hydronic calculations for multiple systems.
• Develop hydronic and airflow diagrams and specify HVAC equipment.
• Meet project deadlines and communicate with clients and design leads.
• Travel less than 10% to project sites and review codes and specs.
