Job summary

Smart IMS Inc. in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Product Manager to lead a large-scale modernization initiative for a mission-critical enterprise application.

You will own the vision, manage the product backlog, write user stories, coordinate with architects, developers, UX/UI designers, and vendors, and ensure security, accessibility, and governance alignment while driving user adoption and change management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Product Manager leading enterprise modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience defining product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and product lifecycle management.
• Expertise in requirements gathering, business analysis, user story creation, backlog management, and prioritization.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and product delivery frameworks.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including architects, developers, UX/UI designers, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product features and technical solutions.
• Experience defining and tracking product KPIs, success metrics, and business outcomes.
• Knowledge of enterprise application architecture, system integrations, and software development lifecycle processes.Understanding of security, accessibility (WCAG), compliance, and data privacy requirements.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, risks, and dependencies in a complex project environment.
• Experience supporting change management, training, and user adoption initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a major application modernization initiative.
• Gather, document, prioritize, and manage business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, UX/UI designers, and vendors to define solution approaches, architecture considerations, and integration requirements.
• Prioritize features, enhancements, and technical initiatives based on business value, strategic objectives, risk, and dependencies.
• Facilitate Agile activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives as needed.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Define and monitor product success metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators.
• Support user adoption, organizational change management, communications, and training initiatives.
• Ensure product compliance with security, accessibility, privacy, and enterprise governance standards.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, constraints, and impediments while driving timely resolution.
• Provide status updates, strategic recommendations, and progress reports to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Support product testing, implementation, deployment, and post-launch optimization activities.
