Job summary

Ally is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Governance Manager to lead the governance gap management across multiple Lines of Business and Corporate Functions. This role will partner with project managers and stakeholders to ensure timely rollout, adherence to standards, and effective communication at the executive level.

The ideal candidate brings strong data governance know-how, program execution skills, and risk-aware leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, program management, project delivery, or a related field.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience with gap assessments, remediation tracking, and quality control or testing processes.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and coordinate across multiple stakeholders and teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and implementation practices.
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide program rollouts across multiple business units.
• Familiarity with risk, compliance, audit, or control testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and coordinate project managers to keep wave implementation activities on track, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and delivery timelines.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and issues to ensure successful execution of the phased rollout of the enterprise data governance program.
• Lead the enterprise data governance gap management process across Business Lines and Corporate Functions.
• Serve as Product Owner for the Enterprise Data Governance Gap Portal, defining vision, roadmap, backlog, and enhancement priorities.
• Drive root-cause analysis and identify opportunities to strengthen enterprise data governance training and communication practices through data governance gap insights.
• Design and implement a sample-based testing and monitoring program to validate adherence to enterprise data governance requirements.
• Use testing results and governance findings to drive continuous improvement of standards, processes, and future implementation waves.
• Provide executive-level communications, presentations, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Provide leadership with clear status updates on rollout progress, risks, and outcomes.
• Establish team priorities, performance objectives, and resource plans to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
