Job summary

Ascot Group, a leading specialty risk underwriting firm, seeks a Data Governance Lead to mature governance across the organization. You will partner with Data Owners, IT, and business stakeholders to define critical data and improve quality while applying AI-enabled tools.

Hybrid work across multiple US offices is offered, with a focus on accountability, governance, and practical data management. 8+ years of data governance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive P&C and specialty insurance knowledge; familiarity with underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance or risk mgmt is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years in data governance, data management, or related discipline.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills to influence leaders and align stakeholders.
• Experience defining Critical Data Elements and standardizing definitions across complex/global orgs.
• Hands-on with data governance tools and data lineage tooling; SQL, Python, R, and Power BI to analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day liaison between Data Governance, IT, and business groups; manage priorities and decisions.
• Define, certify, maintain, and improve Critical Data Elements with Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Translate business objectives into governance outcomes; define data definitions and ownership models.
• Lead data quality monitoring and sessions to drive resolution and accountability.
• Promote collaboration and transparency across technical and business partners for governance best practices.
• Support data governance, data quality, reference data management, and business transformation initiatives.
