Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology is seeking an Applications Systems Manager II (NS) to lead a diverse team responsible for enterprise applications, databases, cloud solutions, GIS technologies, and IT project delivery. This Statutory Exempt (EHRA) role provides strategic leadership and sets technology direction for about 1,700 employees across 11 divisions.

The position offers hybrid remote work with weekly onsite requirements and reports to the department leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT with 6+ years in supervisory roles.
OR Associate degree with 7+ years supervisory experience.
Experience leading enterprise applications, databases, and cloud initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary team of 12 professionals, including DBAs, analysts and specialists.
Guide enterprise application, database, cloud, and collaboration platform strategy.
Drive digital transformation, cloud modernization, and application modernization initiatives.
Establish technology governance, architecture standards, and operational priorities.
Advise executive leadership on technology investments, risks, and opportunities.
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver business-focused technology solutions.
