Job summary

System One is seeking an Engineer / Project Manager Engineer in Denver, CO for a 12-month contract. The role combines engineering expertise with project management oversight across capital initiatives, including renewable energy and infrastructure upgrades.

Hybrid onsite/remote work supports flexibility while delivering essential project outcomes. The candidate will lead scope development, justify projects, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related).
• 5–7+ years of engineering experience, with preference for Level II.
• Minimum 2+ years of project management experience.
• Experience in utility, energy, or oil & gas industries preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage capital engineering projects from initiation through completion, including base projects and large-scale renewable energy/infrastructure initiatives.
• Lead full lifecycle project management: scope development, execution, and closeout.
• Validate project justification and incorporate stakeholder requirements into scope.
• Manage project budget, schedule, quality, and safety performance.
• Coordinate procurement activities including consultants, contractors, and materials/equipment.
• Oversee project execution and conduct field visits to monitor progress.
