Xcel Energy in the United States is seeking a Resource Planning Analyst to analyze, develop and implement resource expansion plans to meet electric system growth. This role involves building plans for new capacity and energy resources across multiple states within regulatory frameworks.

The position requires modeling expansion and production costs, coordinating with Forecasting, Risk Management, Trading and other groups, and interfacing with regulators and stakeholders to secure approvals.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, operations research, mathematics or business.
• Two years energy industry experience or equivalent with large optimization/forecasting models.
• Five or more years related work experience.
• At least three years modeling experience with expansion or production simulation models.
• Extensive system knowledge of at least one Xcel Energy utility.

Responsabilidades

• Develop comprehensive plans to obtain or add new capacity and energy resources.
• Interface with regulators, intervenors, customers and power suppliers to obtain consensus and regulatory approval.
• Plan and perform expansion plan and production cost modeling across scenarios and risks.
• Coordinate with Forecasting, Risk Management, Trading, Gas/Coal Supply and other groups.
• Design and execute solicitations for long-term capacity and energy resources.
