Hire Hangar, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Energy Rebate Processing Specialist in Brooklyn to own the rebate submission process for energy-efficiency projects.

You will gather audit data, submit applications to NYSERDA, Con Edison, and other programs, and persistently follow up through approval and payment. This role requires accuracy, organization, and strong collaboration with a small, tight-knit team.

Qualifications

• Strong computer proficiency with online portals, spreadsheets, document management systems, and government submission platforms.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with strict documentation requirements.
• Tenacious, persistent follow-through; you don’t leave open items unresolved.
• Fast learner who takes notes; programs will be taught from scratch.
• Self-motivated and efficient; able to manage a high volume of submissions without close supervision.
• Genuine comfort with high-volume administrative work.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with leadership in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process energy audit documentation, including photos, measurements, square footage, insulation data, and property information for rebates.
• Prepare and submit rebate applications to NYSERDA, Con Edison, EmPower+ / NYHEP, Clean Heat, PSEG Long Island, and National Grid per program rules.
• Track status of all submissions and follow up to move through approval and payment.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, missing documents, and submission errors quickly and independently.
• Maintain accurate internal records of all submissions, statuses, and outcomes.
• Coordinate with installation team to capture documentation at the correct job stage.
• Stay current on program updates, rule changes, and deadlines across all rebates.
• Support general administrative tasks related to the rebate function as needed.
