Job summary

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to provide expert labor relations guidance across OSPI, ensuring CBAs are applied consistently. You will collaborate with unions, shop stewards, HR colleagues, and state agencies to resolve employee concerns and advise on labor topics.

You will also support HR generalist activities while handling union notifications, grievances, and training related to CBAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field.
• Three years of professional HR experience including interpreting union contracts and grievance management.
• Alternative: Associate degree with five years HR experience or seven years HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor relations guidance and CBAs interpretation.
• Develop relationships with state agencies, unions and shop stewards.
• Ensure union notices are properly issued; manage RFIs and grievances.
• Collaborate on policy interpretation and HR generalist support.
• Coordinate Union-Management Communications and training on CBAs.
• Create and maintain comprehensive labor relations filing systems.
